The year 2024 puts us in front of one of the biggest global challenges – climate change. In this context, engineers play a key role in planning, designing and implementing constructions that not only reflect resistance to these changes, but also enable a sustainable and responsible future. The buildings we create must therefore not only be functional, aesthetic and economical, but also able to withstand increasingly frequent extreme weather conditions and other consequences of climate change. Slovenian Engineering Day offers us a unique opportunity to delve deeper into innovative approaches and technical solutions that will shape the future of our construction projects. How to design and build buildings and infrastructure to meet the challenges of the coming decades, taking into account the latest risks, the use of new materials and advanced technologies? Current approaches, knowledge and regulation often do not keep up with rapid changes and requirements, which puts public facilities, which should be among the most resilient, at risk.
We invite you to participate and contribute to shaping the future of construction, which reflects our shared responsibility towards the environment and society. Together we can build a resilient future and become a driving force for change in the fight against climate challenges.
