IES Charles Rudd Distinguished Global Lectures 2024 (Singapore)

March 4 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm SMT

The IES Charles Rudd Distinguished Lectures, named after the late Er. Charles Rudd, a Founder Member and Fellow of IES, was inaugurated in 2007. Since then, IES had been continuing his legacy to emulate his spirit of continuous professional development and active learning by organising annual lectures for prominent field experts to educate the engineering community and the public on various topics related to engineering. The Lecture serves as a platform to educate, engage and inspire, not only the engineering and scientific community, but also the general public and especially the young students, the future of the world.

In this series, the Lecture will focus on ‘Sustainable Development Goals: Engineering as an Enabler’ and address four key areas: Sustainable Living, Green Economy, Energy Reset, and Resilient Future. The Lecture will highlight the critical role that engineering plays in advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through a wide range of activities and initiatives outlined in the Singapore Green Plan 2030. The multidisciplinary and multi-stakeholder approach of engineering, along with its problem-solving capabilities and commitment to innovation, makes it a crucial enabler in the global pursuit of sustainable development and the achievement of the SDGs.

This event will be broadcast online.
